McNeilus Steel to Expand

McNeilus Steel plans to break ground Thursday, September 3, 2009 on a 15 million dollar expansion project resulting in the addition of 15 new jobs. The 96,600 square foot building will be located four blocks south of the current building and will house a seven and a half million dollar piece of equipment used to decoil and stretch steel. “We feel we are positioning ourselves for the market to turn,” said Glenn Sylvester, General Manager of McNeilus Steel. The expansion will add capacity, and the company has three similar machines at their headquarters in Dodge Center, MN. McNeilus Steel also bought 18 acres for future expansion as well.
McNeilus Steel has been in business since 1948 and delivers more than one million pounds of steel daily from the two locations. The family owned full line service center delivers within a 200 mile radius of both Dodge Center, MN and Fargo, ND.
McNeilus Steel also plans to work with the Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation and local banks to utilize incentive options.
