Facilities and Services
State-of-the-art infrastructure, in the form of telecommunications, technology and facilities, is vitally important to the success of start-up companies. That is why infrastructure is a major focus of Fargo Moorhead's strategy to support entrepreneurs and start-up businesses in our region.
The cornerstone of entrepreneurial facilities in Fargo Moorhead is the Technology Incubator at NDSU, located in North Dakota State University's Research & Technology Park. The nearly 50,000 square feet of space includes wet lab, dry lab/manufacturing, customizable tenant space and a shared production area. Its location - in the Research & Technology Park that is literally minutes from campus - provides the best of both academic and research worlds; easy access to university faculty, top-notch researchers and students eager for internships and coop opportunities. The incubator also benefits from across-the-street access to the region's international airport and being only a minute's drive from two interstate highways.
Aside from fostering an environment of innovation and the ability to share ideas and experiences with like-minded peers, the Technology Incubator at NDSU provides services that start-up businesses often do not have the financial resources or experience to acquire on their own. These services include:
- comprehensive business assistance,
- professional services,
- financing/venture capital,
- client networking,
- university linkages,
- coaching and mentoring,
- market research,
- entrepreneurship education, and
- CEO roundtables.
The Fargo Moorhead community is also committed to opening a wet-lab incubator facility for life science companies in our region. A feasibility study and business plan for the facility are currently under review.
